2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave impresses with rugged design

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

How do I like the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave? Let me count the ways.

It’s a mid-size truck more than a typical Jeep. It’s got a different style and performance that I really like. The doors have those thick hinges, so you get the feeling and look of a Jeep with a truck bed.

The truck has more than 11 inches of ground clearance, which means water is no match for this vehicle. That’s very important in South Florida, when we get monsoons every few days.

I like the grille with seven slots that also can be seen on the Wrangler. It also gives you immediate brand recognition that Jeep is known for throughout the car community.

The hood scoop adds a lot of character to the look of the Mojave and it is functional. On some vehicles these days the hood scoop is just there.

Windshield can fold down and has protectors on the hold so the bright paint job doesn’t get damaged.

It’s also got a removable hard top, which is also fantastic. I like that you can ride through city streets in the afternoon with the top entirely off, which is the reason why you buy a Jeep in the first place. And, on rainy days, you can lock it back on so you, your passengers and your stuff doesn’t get wet including the 10.5-inch infotainment screen.

The four-wheel drive, six-cylinder, 3.6-liter automatic eight-speed engine delivers 17 miles per gallon in the city and 22 miles per gallon on the highway for a combined 19 miles per gallon.

Ideal for trails, hauling and towing, the proven 285 horsepower V6 engine has a torque of 260 pound-feet. All of this produces a towing capacity of 7,700 pounds with a payload capacity of 1,725 pounds.

Starting at $53,000, this beast is a load of fun to drive and makes the idea of driving any terrain manageable. And you are assured that your best friends can fit comfortably in the well-designed crew cab, which is roomy and comfortable for driver and passengers.

Make sure to give the 2024 Jeep Gladiator Mojave a spin and tell me what you think.
