Are we relying too much on faith and not enough on responsibility?

Are we relying too much on faith and not enough on responsibility?

Are we relying too much on faith and not enough on responsibility?“I believe for every drop of rain that falls, a flower grows.”

You must remember that famous opening line to the song I Believe. It certainly would be nice to be able to believe in this fashion and let life go on all around you without fault.

Based on Billy Graham’s demise and all the TV coverage that has received, it appears that there are millions of people all over the world willing and ready to accept Jesus Christ as their Savior. Again, a great thought, but apparently his father didn’t think enough of him to save him from crucifixion.

Try to figure all these things out using today’s morays and you to will begin to agonize over the truth.

These past few weeks have been particularly agonizing for me. Following the aftermath of the Parkland shootings and then followed up with the FIU bridge collapse, I can’t help but wonder who is really in charge. Perhaps it is us — you and I!

I am one of those stubborn people that truly believe that the Parkland shooting would have at least been minimized had those obscene weapons not been so readily available. Of course there are still some of you out there that think perhaps we should be arming all of the students and teachers so that perhaps even more lives can be taken. Do we as human beings have the right to make such judgments?

Now the bridge issue: I somehow came to believe that with all of the technology and science available to us, mostly through our own doing, that we could build a simple walkway over a highway that wouldn’t fall down and kill a bunch of people.

Those of you who are true believers must be looking up into the sky and asking “what is going on?” If there truly is someone in charge up there then perhaps he needs some talking to. If I am to believe all that is written, this and the power to create a big bang, from which entire universes form, each with many suns and stars and billions of people who produce even more people, then solving these problems should be duck soup. So why doesn’t it happen?

Well, here is my brilliant analysis and you need not pray to me, but if you wish to send me large amounts of money I will be very grateful.

What types of weapons are made available to anyone who wants to walk into a store and buy one is definitely something that we, you and

I, have some control over, but what do we do? Nothing!

We allow ourselves to be led by wealthy organizations such as the NRA, No Real Answers. They obviously have lots of money and are able to, as a result, dictate the thinking of people who place their selves at the mercy of the electorate and just plain don’t give a damn.

I know I sound angry, and I am! When I see young children being killed in a horrible way for merely attending school, folks I just can’t help myself!

As for the bridge incident, once again couldn’t someone who can create entire universes should be able to at least show us how to build a bridge that won’t fall down? Maybe we have just placed too much faith in the “man upstairs” and as a result have relinquished our own responsibilities such as making absolutely sure that a simple thing like a bridge will not fall down on a bunch of automobiles with people going about their everyday business. Doesn’t something seem wrong about this? It does to me

If you are becoming a little fed up with me and my beliefs, don’t worry because we now have a president who will probably fire me even though I don’t work for or respect him. That doesn’t seem to stop him with other people. and knowing how his mind malfunctions, he probably has selected my next two successors. I ask once again how did an entire nation of reasonably intelligent people choose our new leader?

Another reason to send me lots of money, so I can perhaps run for president in the next election and put our “used-to-be-great nation” on the right path again.

Finally.

“I believe for everyone who goes astray someone will come to show the way.

I believe, I believe.”

I wish I did!
