Back-to-School community event celebrated at The Palace Gardens

The Palace Gardens in Homestead recently hosted its fourth annual Back-to-School Supply Giveaway, an inspiring day of connection, creativity and community spirit.

In partnership with Start Off Smart (SOS) and Homestead Councilmember Larry Roth, the assisted living and memory care community welcomed local children who received backpacks filled with school supplies and tablets, just in time for the new school year.

This year’s event was made extra special thanks to the dedication of the residents, who handcrafted and painted ceramic art pieces to help fundraise for the cause. For residents like Jane Silva, a former teacher, this event was personal and deeply meaningful.

“I believe this is a worthy cause, and I’m very proud to be a part of this and help out our future generation,” she said.

The Palace Gardens continues to create opportunities for purposeful engagement, showing how older adults can play a vital role in uplifting the next generation.
