Big Brothers Big Sisters of Miami, along with presenting partners Carnival Foundation and Carnival Corporation, will host the nonprofit youth mentoring organization’s “Wildest Dreams” Gala on Saturday, Jan. 30, 7 p.m., at American Airlines Arena, 601 Biscayne Blvd.
Hundreds of Miami’s corporate and philanthropic elite will join community leaders, supporters and volunteers at the 13th annual fundraiser for an exciting evening of cocktails, a silent auction featuring “dream” vacations, followed by a gourmet dinner and dancing at one of Miami’s most spectacular venues.
Organizers hope to raise over $1 million at the gala this year to benefit BBBS Miami, a donor- and volunteer-supported organization that helps at-risk youths through adult mentorship relationships. Funds go towards matching volunteer mentors, known as “Bigs,” with children, or “Littles.” Last year’s gala raised $1.7 million for mentorship programs and the organization’s new home, the Carnival Center for Excellence at 550 NW Lejeune Road, where BBBS will move in 2016.
Jennifer Kennedy, Joy Spillis Lundeen and Kim Wood will serve as gala chairs.
Individual “early bird” tickets may be purchased for $750. Sponsorships for tables of 10 that offer other benefits are available for corporations, organizations, and individuals on several levels: Dream Maker ($50,000), Dream Builder ($25,000), Daydreamer ($15,000) and Dream Team ($10,000).
