The Town of Cutler Bay’s 15th annual Chili Cook-off will take place on Saturday, Jan. 25. The always popular family-friendly event will take place at Cutler Ridge Park from 2 to 6 p.m.

The cook-off is open to everyone and as before there will be three divisions — Amateurs, Restaurants and Firehouses. Cook-off categories are: Chili, Salsa, and Cornbread. Cash prizes will be awarded in all three categories as well as for “Best Decorated Booth” and “People’s Choice.”

The event will feature free chili, salsa, and cornbread samples (while supplies last), food trucks, live music by hometown band Cutler Stew, a Kids Zone with face painters, inflatables, a video game bus and balloon artists. The event will take place from 2 to 5 p.m. An awards presentation is for 5 p.m. and the event ends at 6 p.m.

Maria Herrera‑Mendoza, the town’s Events and Programs manager, said she is looking forward to the event.

“We are excited to host our 15th annual Chili Cook-off and expect a record-breaking attendance as every year it gets more and more popular,” Herrera‑Mendoza said. “We have many new chefs participating as well as many new food trucks.”
