A series of vacant storefronts in Downtown Homestead will soon be transformed into an entertainment and dining destination thanks to the revitalization efforts of the Homestead Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA).  The CRA recently purchased multiple retail storefronts on Krome Avenue north of 2nd Street in Downtown Homestead in the hope of attracting partners with significant dining and entertainment experience to bring the vision of a thriving arts and entertainment district to life.

The new venture, tentatively named Krome Marketplace, is the next step in the effort to revitalize Downtown Homestead through strategic planning, investment, and collaboration with the private sector.  The properties, located at 204, 220, & 230 North Krome Avenue, provide 174 feet of frontage on the bustling thoroughfare and comprise altogether nearly 20,000 square feet of usable space.  Interested partners must submit a proposal no later than Friday, October 20th, 2023 at the close of business day and will have the opportunity to view the space by appointment only.  Additional information can be found at www.cityofhomestead.com/cra or by calling 305-224-4481.

Krome Marketplace is intended to build on other successful projects in Downtown Homestead that are preserving the area’s unique historical and cultural charms while incorporating modern amenities.  Other completed projects include: Losner Park expansion, Homestead Cybrarium, Homestead Station Transit Center, Seminole Theatre revitalization, Homestead Police Headquarters, and Homestead City Hall.  These projects and other private sector investments encompass more than $100 million of economic stimulus over the past decade.
