Cutler Bay High School’s Alanna Alfonso, a graduating senior, recently received the Orange Bowl Bronze Award – Female, when the Dade Schools Athletic Foundation hosted the annual Miami-Dade County Public Schools Scholar-Athlete Luncheon at the DoubleTree Convention Center Miami Airport Hotel.
The designed to honor and recognize some of Miami-Dade County’s top athletes who also maintain high GPAs and other achievements off the field as well.
Alfonso, who plays water polo, was the school’s Wendy’s High School Heisman nominee. She is in the Cutler Bay Ocean Academy of Science and Technology (COAST) Academy.
Alfonso, who will be attending FIU which is accepting her Cambridge, credits, wants to be a veterinarian.
