Cutler Bay Middle School recognized with ‘A’ rating
Cutler Bay Middle School

Cutler Bay Middle School recently went from a “C” rated school to an “A” school. Several years ago it was a “D” school, which shows that it achieved even more improvement in a relatively short period of time.

Cutler Bay Mayor Tim Meerbott had high praise for the school and its accomplishment.

“Our schools are the heart of this community, and this milestone is something all Cutler Bay families should be proud of,” Mayor Meerbott said. “Cutler Bay Middle’s journey from a “D” to an “A” is nothing short of inspiring. We’re grateful for the leadership of our principals, the dedication of our teachers, and the support of parents and students who made this possible.”

Jorge Parra is the principal of Cutler Bay Middle School. His assistant principals are Tonya McKay and Rita Ramirez. The school has 39 teachers and a large number of staff and paraprofessionals who see to its day-to-day operation, its curriculum and its progress.

Miami-Dade County Public Schools, which is the third largest school district in the U.S., determines that a school is an “A” school. The rating reflects the overall performance of schools within the district, based on factors including academic achievement, graduation rates and other performance metrics. The school board’s commitment to excellence and community support plays a crucial role in maintaining and improving the ratings of schools in the district.

Cutler Bay Middle School, home of the “Warriors,” is located at 19400 Gulfstream Rd. in Cutler Bay.

On the Principal’s Message page on the school’s website, Parra said, “On behalf of all Warrior faculty and staff members, we welcome you and look forward to an amazing school year! There is no limit what we can achieve.”
