Many students participated in Club Rush 2017 at Cutler Bay Senior High School.

Cutler Bay Senior High School had a successful turnout for Club Day under the direction of Christopher Illa, Student Activities director.

Extracurricular programs provide students with the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to learn the value of working on a team.

Studies consistently have shown that students who participate in school activities and athletic programs make higher grades and have better attendance than students who do not participate. In fact, 95 percent of Fortune 500 executives participated in high school athletics or activities.

Many members of the faculty and staff participated in the 2017 Club Rush. The school anticipates an active year with the 30 clubs. High school clubs are composed of students, with adults as advising figures to maintain the functionality of clubs.

Clubs primarily focus on four aspects: service, career interest, fundraising, and interpersonal dynamics. In general, clubs are broken down into two main categories: state and/or national organizations, and local clubs.
