Cutler Bay Solar Solutions chosen by local co-op to install solar panels

The Miami-Dade Solar Co-Op has selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions to install solar panels for the 75-participant (and growing) group.

Co-op selection committee participants selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions through a competitive bidding process. The group held additional public information sessions on Mar. 14 and Mar. 15 to educate the community about solar and the co-op process.

“It is an honor to be selected because we know how thoroughly they reviewed each bid,” said Raul Vergara of Cutler Bay Solar Solutions.

“We are eager to continue helping our community go solar by providing quality systems at a good price.”

Solar United Neighbors expands access to solar by educating Miami-Dade residents about the benefits of distributed solar energy, helping them organize group solar installations, and strengthening Florida’s solar policies and its community of solar supporters.

Co-op participants selected Cutler Bay Solar Solutions because of the breadth of quality equipment, affordable prices, experience and workmanship warranties.

“The process was very well prepared,” said Stéphane and Marielle Romet, Selection Committee participants and hosts. “We had access — ahead of our meeting — to the detailed offers of each installer and also to a spreadsheet enabling us to easily compare each of the proposals in an ‘apples to apples’ manner.

“[Co-op coordinator Jody Finver] replied to each technical question we had without taking position nor influencing our choice in any manner. We really believe our selection will fit with the vast majority of co-op members’ expectations and we’re excited to go solar.”

The co-op is open to new participants until Apr. 27. Miami-Dade residents interested in joining the co-op can sign up at www.solarunitedneighbors.org/miami

“I’ve wanted to purchase a solar energy solution for my home for a long time, but found the process somewhat intimidating and

confusing” said Rene Ramos, a Selection Committee volunteer. “Joining the co-op was a major step toward eliminating the confusion and getting a well-rounded education on state-of-the-art solar. Joining the selection committee turbocharged my learning, but more importantly, gave me the opportunity to serve my fellow homeowners and community. It’s been an honor and lots of fun.”

The solar co-op is free to join. Joining is not a commitment to purchase panels. Cutler Bay Solar Solutions will provide each co-op participant with an individualized proposal based on the group rate. By going solar as a group and choosing a single installer, participants can save off the cost of going solar and have the support of fellow group participants and solar experts at Solar United Neighbors.
