One of the Town of Cutler Bay’s most popular annual events, the Wings Over The Bay Chicken Wing Cook-Off, takes place again on Saturday, Mar. 8, from 6 to 10 p.m., at Cutler Ridge Park.
Professional and amateur chefs can register to compete for prizes and trophies in three categories: Buffalo, Special Grill, and Parmesan Garlic. Prizes also will be awarded for “People’s Choice” and “Best Decorated Booth.”
The event is free and in addition to the cooking competition, it will feature live music by Country artist Ricky Valido, food trucks with other items that can be purchased, a wing-eating competition, fun activities for children, and free chicken wings (while supplies last).
The event is sponsored by Buffalo Wild Wings.

Maria Herrera-Mendoza, event organizer for the town, said there are certain requirements.
“This is a traditional cook-off and everything must be cooked on-site,” Herrera-Mendoza said. “The awards will be announced at 9 p.m. with prizes presented by members of the town council.
“Remember, teams must bring their own cooking equipment, tents, tables, chairs, paper towels and anything else needed. Electricity will not be provided. Any high allergen seasoning or ingredient necessary to create unique taste is acceptable but must be listed at your table (example: peanut oil or a potential high allergen).”
Only one entry per contestant/team is allowed in each category. The entry fee is $25 per category. A mandatory chef’s meeting will be held at Cutler Ridge Park at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Mar. 6. One representative from each team must attend.
