The Town of Cutler Bay’s popular annual event, the Easter Eggstravaganza, will take place at a new location for the first time — Lakes by the Bay Park — to make it bigger and better.
It will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Apr. 19.
Town Events and Programs manager Maria Herrera‑Mendoza said she was looking forward to the change.
“This year we are doing something new by moving the event to Lakes by the Bay Park,” said Herrera‑Mendoza. “We will do our annual Easter Egg Hunts on the baseball fields to allow for more room for the kids to hunt.”
As before, the event is free and intended for children ages 10 and younger, but the entire family will enjoy it. Lakes by yhe Bay Park is located at 8551 SW 216 St.
Herrera‑Mendoza estimated that about 1,500 people attended last year and enjoyed two separate egg hunts that were split into zones separated by ages: 0-2, 3-6 and 7-10.
“There was a golden egg dropped during each hunt that, when found, won a special Easter basket,” Herrera‑Mendoza said.
This year’s event will feature:
● Free photo with the Easter Bunny
● Pet adoptions by Miami-Dade County Animal Services
● Music
● Balloon twisting
● Inflatables
● Face painting
● Slime art station
● Jewelry making station
● Arts and crafts
● Egg hunts
● Food trucks
