Dade County Federal Credit Union recently opened a new branch at 20295 S. Dixie Hwy., offering added convenience for credit union members in the Town of Cutler Bay as well as other residents and visitors in Miami-Dade County.

Positioned on an outparcel of Southland Mall, the branch replaces the credit union’s prior location about a half a mile south with a larger, state-of-the-art facility including a drive through and additional parking.

“While we have had a branch nearby, it was not as convenient and not nearly as visible as we wanted it to be,” said Mauricio Morales, vice president of Dade County Federal. “The new branch is larger, easily accessible from Florida’s Turnpike and highly visible to the more than 50,000 commuters who drive on S. Dixie Highway each day.”

The branch, previously an office for a regional bank, was re-designed by architect Herman Chaviano with DTI International and built by Fonticiella Construction Corporation.

Djuring a grand opening and ribbon cutting on July 25, Joseph was joined by Mayor Peggy Bell of the Town of Cutler Bay and Maria Levrant from the office of Miami-Dade Commissioner Danielle Levine-Cava who delivered proclamations in support of the new branch.

“It is undeniable that online banking, ATMs and mobile apps make banking more convenient,” Morales said. “But we also want our members to know that if they have a question or an issue regarding their money, they can always visit a branch and speak with a person, face-to-face.”

Dade County Federal Credit Union maintains 12 branches, including its mobile branch, and is a not-for-profit financial institution that is owned by the members and operated exclusively for their benefit.
