The Deering Estate at Cutler opens its new theater space with the second annual South Florida “One-Minute Play Festival” on Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 25 and 26.
The One-Minute Play Festival (#1MPF), America’s largest and longest running short form theater company founded by Dominic D’Andrea, producing artist director, features one-minute plays by over 30 established and emerging South Florida playwrights commissioned for this event.
The work attempts to reflect the theatrical landscape of local artistic communities by creating a dialogue between the collective conscious and the individual voice through a performance of many moments and includes responses to local topics such as immigration, government and culture. Note that the performances contain mature content.
There are three performances scheduled at the Deering Estate at Cutler: Saturday, Jan. 25, 8 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 26, 3 and 7:30 p.m. The Deering Estate at Cutler is located at 16701 SW 72 Ave. The performance on Sunday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m. will be live-streamed on Howlround.com’s HowlroundTV at livestream.com/newplay.
