Twice a year Jaki and Joe Gonzalez, who live in Cutler Bay and work in Palmetto Bay, host a flea market and antiques bazaar show at the Fern Street Shopping Center, in the island that divides S. Dixie Highway.
Their next one is on May 5 and a group of local vendors are participating in the show that takes place in the street outside their shop, Neatful Things Gallery, and other antique stores in the same area. The event runs from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Set up time is 7 a.m.
“This is our fourth year doing these events,” Jaki said. “It’s not only about everyone being able to buy and sell antiques and stuff, it’s about networking and letting the community know where everyone is. It’s a small venue but we have a blast and the community gets to participate and make money on cool finds.”
The Flea Market & Antiques Bazaar is located at 9841 E. Fern St. in Palmetto Bay. She said there still are a few vendor spaces available.
