The Town of Cutler Bay’s highly popular event, the annual Halloween Spooktacular, returns to Cutler Ridge Park on Friday Oct. 25, with a second special event the following night.

Events and Programs manager Maria Herrera‑Mendoza of the Department of Parks & Recreation said she was excited about the upcoming two-night event.

“The first night, Oct. 25, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., we will have a Trunk or Treat where local businesses in the community will provide a safe and fun outing, distributing candy,” Herrera‑Mendoza said. “Aside from the Trunk or Treat, the event also includes a Halloween costume contest, activities for kids and more. The costume contest is limited to the first 25 participants to register per age group. The second night, Oct. 26, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., we will have our Golf Cart Parade followed by a movie night where the movie will be chosen based on a social media vote.”

As before, there will be a haunted house with volunteers staffing the scary walk-through, food trucks selling a variety of items, a live deejay and other activities.

Regarding the costume contest, Maria Herrera‑Mendoza said that it was important to get there early.

“They may only register in-person promptly at 6 p.m. at the black Cutler Bay Parks and Recreation tent on the far side of field,” she said. “The costume contest will start at 8:15 p.m.”

The categories for the costume contest are: Pets, Infants, 3-6 years, 7-9 years, 10-13 years, 14-17 years, and 18 and older.

Cutler Ridge Park is located at 10100 SW 200 St.
