HCA Florida Kendall Hospital hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Monday, Dec. 15, to commemorate the opening of its new freestanding emergency center, HCA Florida South Dade Emergency.
Located at 14190 SW 288 St. in Homestead, the new facility will provide a full range of emergency medical services for both adults and children. This marks HCA Florida Healthcare’s first facility in the South Dade area.
The new state-of-the-art ER will be staffed by board-certified emergency medicine physicians and emergency-trained nurses, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year — mirroring the level of care offered in hospital-based emergency departments. Physicians and care teams will treat a wide range of conditions including infections, chest pain, fractures, and other urgent medical needs, supported by extensive onsite diagnostic capabilities.
“South Dade is home to many of the families we serve, and making emergency care more accessible is incredibly important to us,” said Ben Harris, CEO of HCA Florida Kendall Hospital. “We’re honored to open HCA Florida South Dade Emergency and continue our commitment to providing care like family.”
Harris was joined at the ribbon cutting event by local leaders, community partners, and elected officials. Emergency physicians from HCA Florida Kendall Hospital were onsite to answer questions from attendees about available services and the facility’s features.
HCA Florida South Dade Emergency expands HCA Florida Healthcare’s ability to deliver high-quality, patient-focused care throughout the state while increasing access to advanced treatments, innovative technology, and experienced medical teams. Designed to meet the community’s evolving healthcare needs, the new facility includes:
• Comfortable private treatment rooms;
• Digital diagnostic equipment, including CT, ultrasound, and portable X-ray;
• On-site laboratory services, and
• Fast-track rooms for patients with less urgent illnesses and injuries.
Patients visiting HCA Florida South Dade Emergency can expect the same level of care they would receive at a hospital-based emergency department. As part of one of Florida’s largest healthcare networks, HCA Florida South Dade Emergency provides seamless access to hospitals, specialists, and additional services throughout the state, ensuring a connected and coordinated experience for patients and their families.
