Homestead swears in mayor,vice mayor, councilmember

Homestead welcomed Mayor Steven D. Losner, Vice Mayor Sean L. Fletcher, Councilmember Clemente Canabal, Councilmember Tom Davis, and Councilmember Larry Roth for new terms on the dais during a ceremony on the evening of Nov. 13.

Mayor Losner was sworn in by his son, Max Losner. Mayor Losner was re-elected to a four-year term as mayor after serving two two-year terms beginning in 2021 and 2019. He previously served on the Homestead City Council during 2001-07. He has been an active member of many community organizations including the Rotary Club of Homestead.

Vice Mayor Fletcher took the Oath of Office administered by Marion Fletcher. Vice Mayor Fletcher was elected to a two-year term as and four-year term as councilmember representing Seat No. 2. He was previously elected to the same seat, which includes the city’s Keys Gate area, in November 2019. He also served on the Homestead City Council during 1999-01.

Councilmember Canabal was sworn in by his wife, State Sen. Ana Maria Rodriguez, and Carlos Riveron. Councilmember Canabal was elected to a four-year term in November to represent Seat No. 6, which includes the Isles of Oasis area.

Councilmember Davis had his Oath of Office administered by his wife, Jesika Davis.

Councilmember Davis was elected to a two-year term in November to represent Seat No. 1, which includes the Northwest Neighborhood of Homestead.

Councilmember Roth was sworn in by Alexandra Garcia and Anthony Garcia.

Councilmember Roth was first elected to the council in November 2015 to serve a four-year term representing Seat No. 3, which includes The Villages of Homestead. He subsequently was re-elected in November 2019.
