It’s officially Hurricane Season, and the first storm of the season is headed to South Florida over the next few days. If you haven’t already, now is the time to get hurricane-ready for the season.
Visit miamidade.gov/hurricane to:
- Find out if your home is in a storm surge planning zone;
- Learn what to include in your emergency kit;
- Important things to consider or do before, during and after a hurricane
- and many more resources
You can also take advantage of the Hurricane Supplies Sales Tax Holiday happening now through June 10, when you can purchase qualifying disaster preparedness supplies tax free.
That includes items like portable generators, batteries, radios, pet food, flashlights, carbon monoxide detectors and more.
