JetStream Federal Credit Union recently joined Kristi House and other community partners in supporting the annual Back-To-School Community Open House events, held on Saturdays, Aug. 2 and 9, at the Homestead location. The events helped hundreds of families across Miami-Dade County prepare for the upcoming school year with essential supplies and fun-filled activities.
With the help of dedicated partners like JetStream, Kristi House was able to assemble and distribute more than 600 backpacks filled with a full list of school supplies.
At the Miami location, which hosted a private event for Kristi House clients, JetStream helped provide backpacks to approximately 160 families. Additional supplies were distributed to other Miami-Dade locations, including Miami Gardens, Palmetto Bay, and Homestead, ensuring broader community reach.
The Homestead event, open to the public, welcomed over 400 attendees and distributed nearly 500 backpacks. JetStream participated alongside approximately 30 other service providers, each offering resources, school supplies, and giveaways.
Highlights from the event included:
• 13 Chromebooks donated by Amigos For Kids;
• Tickets to the Miami Fair & Expo and FIU football games;
• Amazon gift cards;
• YWCS Summer Kits, and
• The grand prize — a 4K Apple TV.
Families also enjoyed face painting, arts and crafts, cotton candy, snow cones, balloon twisting, a live deejay, pizza, cake jars, and more.
JetStream Federal Credit Union is honored to support Kristi House’s mission and remains committed to uplifting local families through meaningful community engagement.
