The Key Clubhouse of South Florida, a Miami-based organization dedicated to providing assistance to adults living with serious mental illness such as bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and major depression, has announced the addition of Dr. Delvena Thomas and Eric Pinto to its board.

The announcement was made by Amy McClellan, president of the board of directors of Key Clubhouse.

Dr. Delvena R. Thomas is board-certified in psychiatry, neurology, and maintains a private practice in psychotherapy, psychopharmacology and alternative health. She is a lieutenant aolonel in the U.S. Army Reserve and an Iraq and Afghanistan veteran who has completed three combat tours. She is the author and producer of her own podcast “The Brain Love Podcast” which also bears the name of her nonprofit organization, The DRT Brain Love Foundation, formed in 2018.

Also joining the board is Eric Pinto, a tax partner at Pricewaterhouse Coopers’ Florida Practice where he has served clients during the past 16 years. He is a trusted business advisor for companies working with company management and stakeholders with their tax compliance and consulting needs. Pinto enjoys giving back to the community by participating in events and helping organizations within the education and healthcare areas.

“We are so fortunate to have Dr. Thomas and Eric join our board of directors,” McClellan said. “They have demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing the lives of those living with mental illness and are great additions to our board.”

Among the services the Key Clubhouse offers its members is a recovery through work program that assists in reintegrating them into the workplace and community. During the past two years, the Key Clubhouse has been instrumental in placing more than 100 of its members in jobs throughout South Florida.

Originally founded in 2010 by a group of family members and a young woman with bipolar disorder, the Key Clubhouse fills a significant gap in the mental health system by offering opportunities for meaningful work, education, friendships and access to housing in a supportive, caring and dignified community setting.

Key Clubhouse of South Florida is funded by the Thriving Mind/Department of Children and Families, Miami-Dade County, several foundations and numerous generous contributors. For information on The Key Clubhouse of South Florida, visit www.keyclubhouse.org.
