
Miami International Mall in Doral has named The League Against Cancer / Liga Contra el Cancer as its official 2011 “Hispanic Heritage Celebration” charity of choice.
La Liga will receive 75% percent of the net proceeds from the fall weekend event which will celebrate the diverse cultures and flavors of various Latin American Countries during September.
The “Hispanic Heritage Celebration” kicks off with the “Noche de Honor” VIP cocktail reception, where Liga Contra el Cancer will host a silent auction and local Hispanic leaders will be recognized.
“We are thrilled to partner with Miami International Mall in this festive celebration of Hispanic culture,” said Adriana Cora, executive vice president of Liga Contra el Cancer. “This will help create a greater awareness for our organization and assist us in our commitment to serving financially needy cancer patients.”
“La Liga is a vital part of the community and we are happy to help them in their efforts to assist cancer victims by providing free health care,” said Maria Prado, mall manager. “Miami International Mall looks forward to helping them raise muchneeded funds through this weekend celebration.”
Telemundo 51 will serve as media partner for this year’s “Hispanic Heritage Celebration.” The celebration is slated for September 30 thru October 2, 2011.
The League Against Cancer / Liga Contra el Cancer was founded in Miami in 1975 as a community based, not for profit organization providing free medical care to needy cancer patients by more than 350 volunteeer Florida physicians who are board-certified in their specialties.
