The band Love Canon will perform a wide variety of some of the most popular and beloved hits of the 1980s and ’90s on the main stage of the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center on Saturday, Apr. 15, at 8 p.m.
Hailing from the Blue Ridge Mountains in Charlottesville, VA., Love Canon was founded in 2006 by musicians Adam Larrabee, Jesse Harper, and Zach Hickman. Since its inception, the band has played pop hits spanning the 1970s through the ’90s — all in its own inimitable bluegrass style.
Love Canon has released seven full-length albums, crisscrossing genres and highlighting the work of such famous recording artists as Peter Gabriel, Billy Joel, Depeche Mode, and Paul Simon. Their fourth and most recent album, Cover Story, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Bluegrass chart.
“Love Canon’s high-energy performances, unique vocal stylings, and mix of string instruments provide exceptional arrangements of the familiar songs we know,” said Eric Fliss, managing director of the Dennis C. Moss Cultural Arts Center.
“Our Main Stage will be transformed into an intimate ‘speakeasy’ environment, with traditional theater seating, table seating, and bar service right in the room! This will be an extra special environment to welcome our guests, and the band, to South Miami-Dade,” he added.
Love Canon has been touring the mid-Atlantic region since 2010. The band rotates between various vocal styles from former members of Old School Freight Train — including bassist Darrell Muller, lead singer and guitarist Jesse Harper, banjo virtuoso Adam Larrabee, and mandolin master Andy Thacker.
For years, Love Canon has shared stages and studios with such famous artists as Keb Mo, Jason Mraz, Bruce Hornsby, Warren Haynes, Josh Ritter, Ricky Skaggs, Merle Haggard, David Grisman, KD Lang, Emmylou Harris, Sara Bareilles, John C. Reilly, Madeleine Peyroux, Colbie Caillat, and many more.
Love Canon is recommended for all ages. The regular ticket price is $37.50, and VIP tables are available for $55 (including table and complimentary beverage). Tickets may be purchased by visiting MossCenter.org, through the Moss Center Box Office in person, or by calling 786-573-5300.
