School Board Member Luisa Santos hosted a Thanksgiving Giveaway on Thursday, November 16th at Cutler Bay Middle School, providing local students and their families with Thanksgiving food staples and gift cards to ease holiday food costs.
The event fostered collaboration among the school community, local businesses, and nonprofits during the season of giving. Partnering with His Hands and Feet Inc., MDC Gear Up, Village Church, Curriculum Associates, Avery Jones, GSP Inc, Dade Tech Solutions, and food drives hosted by Cutler Bay Senior High, West Homestead K-8, and Miami Palmetto Senior High School, the event successfully served over 150 families.
“This event exemplifies the strength of our community when we come together,” said School Board Member Santos. “It is through events like these where we see the power of unity in our community, and I am grateful to know that South Dade supports one another. Thank you to everyone who contributed time, resources, and support, making a meaningful impact on the lives of our neighbors.”
