Miami Dade College (MDC) Wolfson Campus recently received “La Vittoria di Samotracia” by Maria Cristina Carlini, one of five new sculptures installed on campus in collaboration with the renowned Sculpt Miami Art Fair. Present at the unveiling at NW 3rd Street location were (l-r) MDC Art Gallery Director Jorge L. Gutierrez; MDC Wolfson Campus President Mercedes Quiroga; Sculpt Miami Director Gala Kavachnina. Four additional artworks on loan through Scuplt Miami’s November 2011 event include “Passage to Hope” by John Angee; “All Cylinders” by Mike Hansel; “Shutter” by John Henry; and “Woman in Red” by Jorge Fernandez; the Carlini work was donated for permanent exhibit.
