MDFR units respond to house fire.

More than 35 Miami-Dade Fire Rescue (MDFR) units responded on Nov. 30, at 5:36 a.m., to a first alarm house fire near SW 187th Avenue and 216th Street.

Fire crews arrived to find a fully engulfed, two-story home with heavy flames and smoke coming from the roof. The fire also spread to an adjacent trailer on the property.

Firefighters quickly employed defensive firefighting tactics to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading to additional nearby structures. This included having crews up on ladders monitoring for fire extension and protecting possible exposures.

With limited hydrant access in the area, firefighters drafted from nearby bodies of water to fight the fire. After extensive efforts, the main fire was extinguished and units remained on scene monitoring for hot spots.

There were no reported injuries, and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
