MDX Traffic Advisory for Sunday, January 13 through Sunday, January 20, 2019

SR 836/Dolphin Expressway­­­

Note: All overnight ramp closures and their respective detours will happen intermittently and not in conflict with each other. Drivers should look for guidance and detour signage for active closures throughout the week.

New Traffic Pattern

Beginning on Monday, January 14 at 5 a.m., drivers will follow a new traffic pattern for all SR 836 entrance ramps, exit ramps, and lanes at NW 57^th Avenue. Drivers on NW 57^th Avenue will briefly cross to the left as they pass under the expressway overpass and then return to the right side of the road. Drivers should follow all signs and pavement markings in the interchange and look for variable message signs indicating new ramp locations. New ramp locations:

• Northbound and southbound NW 57^th Avenue drivers wishing to access westbound SR 836 will now use a new entrance ramp located just south of the existing westbound SR 836 entrance ramp. The existing westbound SR 836 entrance ramp will be closed.
• Southbound NW 57^th Avenue drivers will now be able to access eastbound SR 836 using a new entrance ramp located on the southeast side of the interchange.

Complete Mainline Closure

There will be a complete closure of all lanes and ramps on eastbound SR 836 from NW 42^nd Avenue/LeJeune Road to NW 27^th Avenue for a traffic shift on Friday, January 18 from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. and again on Saturday, January 19 from 12 a.m. to 6 a.m. The alternate date and time for this closure due to weather or other unforeseen circumstances is Sunday, January 20 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. Detours:

• Take exit to southbound NW 42^nd Avenue/LeJeune Road
• Turn left onto NW 7^th Street
• Turn left onto NW 27^th Avenue
• Take entrance to eastbound SR 836 on right

Extended Ramp Closure

The entrance ramp to eastbound SR 836 from northbound and southbound NW 37^th Avenue is closed for reconstruction until the end of January 2019. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. Detours:

Drivers going northbound on NW 37^th Avenue can:

• Continue on northbound NW 37^th Avenue
• Turn right onto NW 17^th Street
• Turn right onto NW 27^th Avenue
• Take entrance to eastbound SR 836 on left

Extended Ramp Closure

The entrance ramp to westbound SR 836 from northbound NW 87^th Avenue is temporarily closed for reconstruction until further notice. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. Detour:

• Take entrance to westbound SR 836 on left

Ramp & Lane Closure

The westbound SR 836 collector and distributor road from southbound SR 826/Palmetto Expressway and the westbound SR 836 exit ramp to NW 87^th Avenue will be intermittently closed for bridge work on Monday, January 14 through Thursday, January 17 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. Detours: 

Drivers wishing to access southbound NW 87^th Avenue from southbound SR 826 can:

• Continue on westbound SR 836
• Take exit to southbound NW 107^th Avenue
• Turn left onto Fontainebleau Boulevard
• Turn left onto Park Boulevard to access NW 87^th Avenue

Ramp Closures

The eastbound SR 836 entrance and exit ramps at NW 57^th Avenue will be closed for barrier wall removal, temporary barrier wall installation, clearing, grubbing and completion of the Diverging Diamond Interchange onFriday, January 11 at 11 p.m. and will remain closed until Monday, January 14 at 5 a.m. The ramps will close again on Tuesday, January 15 through Thursday, January 17 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night and again on Friday, January 18 from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Drivers should follow posted detour signs. There will be a complete closure of all lanes on northbound and southbound NW 57^th Avenue between Perimeter Road and Blue Lagoon Drive for bridge work and completion of the Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) onFriday, January 11 at 11 p.m. and will remain closed until Monday, January 14 at 5 a.m. The lanes will close again on Tuesday, January 15 through Friday, January 18 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night.  Drivers should follow posted detour signs.
