Military Appreciation Day activities coming to Downtown Homestead

Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Get ready to witness a remarkable transformation as Downtown Homestead becomes the epicenter of all things military on Saturday, May 11, from 5 to 9 p.m.

This immersive Military Appreciation Day event, hosted at Losner Park, 104 N. Krome Ave., promises an unforgettable experience for all attendees.

The event, curated to celebrate and honor the military, will feature a stunning array of specialized military vehicles, weaponry, and interactive displays. From vintage treasures to cutting-edge technology, guests will have the unique opportunity to explore and learn about the evolution of military equipment firsthand.

But the excitement doesn’t end there. Adventure seekers can conquer the rock climbing wall, while thrill-seekers can engage in exhilarating dart battles.

For those who wish to express their gratitude and support, a “Letters to Military” station will be available, providing a platform to convey heartfelt messages to our brave servicemen and women.

In a gesture of appreciation, the Military Affairs Council (MAC) will extend $10 food vouchers to active military members, reserve members, and veterans upon presentation of a valid military ID. These vouchers, obtainable at the MAC tent, can be redeemed at the festival’s diverse array of food trucks.

This community-driven initiative is a testament to the collaborative efforts of the City of Homestead, in partnership with the Homestead Reserve Air Base, Military Affairs Council, Monroe Marauders, Seminole Theatre, and Homestead Main Street. Together, they aim to foster a deeper connection between civilians and all branches of the military, fostering a spirit of unity and appreciation within the community.
