From his home in the Florida Keys, to Europe, Mexico, Nashville, and places in between, David Feder is recognized as an extraordinary composer and guitarist by all who hear him.
Feder plays a signature blend of Flamenco-infused folk music influenced by over three decades of island living to create a breezy yet sophisticated style.
As the second stop on his 2017 Limitless Guitar tour, Feder will perform at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, 10950 SW 211 St. in Cutler Bay, on Aug. 19. The show begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 day of show and can be purchased at the SMDCAC box office by calling 786-573-5300 or online at smdcac.org. Acclaimed author and Miami Herald columnist Carl Hiaasen is a longtime fan of Feder’s music.
“I’m knocked out by the energy of his music, his touch with the Latin guitar is magic,” Hiaasen said.
Jimmy Buffet, another fan of Feder, backs his words with actions. Buffet recently introduced Feder, who performed with him at a recent show in the Keys by noting, “You have a Florida Treasure in your midst…please welcome the great Dave Feder.”
Buffet’s new Broadway musical, Escape to Margaritaville, just completed its pre-New York run in California and is heading next to New Orleans, then on to Broadway in the new year. David Feder was hired as guitar coach to help the male lead of the show, noted Broadway actor Paul Nolan of Jesus Christ Superstar fame, improve his guitar playing skills for the part.
National Public Radio’s Michael Stock notes that Feder has a “…magic way of making you feel like an old friend with songs that are original and intimate. He is a master guitarist who plays his own intricate Flamenco influenced finger-style music with laid back island feel.”
