Palmer Trinity School is proud to welcome The Reverend Sandra Curtis as its new Chaplain, who took over for The Reverend Dr. Mary Ellen Cassini starting July 1, 2024.
“We want to thank Rev. Cassini for the positive role she has played in our students’ lives over the last 10 years. We wish her continued success and blessings in this next phase of her ministry,” shared Head of School, Patrick H. F. Roberts. “We look forward to welcoming The Reverend Sandra Curtis to our faculty at Palmer Trinity School in the incoming school year. With her experience and reputation in Episcopal education, we are confident she will support our mission to inspire students to lead lives of virtue, humanity and spirit in her new role as Chaplain.”
Curtis has more than 17 years of experience in education in both teaching and administrative capacities. She joins us from the Episcopal Collegiate School in Little Rock, Arkansas, where she served as the Lower School Chaplain since 2013 and the Middle School Librarian from 2007-2012. As the Lower School Chaplain, the Reverend taught weekly religious formation classes, as well as creating and officiating weekly community chapel programs for students.
In addition to her role as Chaplain, Curtis was also Dean of the Iona Collaborative in Arkansas for the Diocese of Arkansas, responsible for the administration of training for the ordination of deacons and priests for the Diocese, student support, curriculum planning, and teaching.
Curtis holds a Master of Arts in theological studies from Duke University, a master’s degree in library sciences from North Carolina Central University, a Bachelor of Arts in religious studies and minor in philosophy from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tennessee, and a diploma in Anglican studies from the University of the South’s School of Theology in Tennessee.
