If you love all things barbecue, get your bibs and bellies ready, as the Redland Blues & Barbecue Festival is returning for its ninth season, Saturday and Sunday, Apr. 6 and 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., at Preston B. Bird/Mary Heinlein Fruit & Spice Park, 24801 SW 187 Ave. in Homestead.
The Miami-Dade County Parks, Recreation and Open Spaces Department, which presents the annual event, is bringing in the grillmasters lakeside for some tantalizing barbecue, beer, amazing music and other family-style entertainment. South Florida’s best ribs, brisket and chicken will be available for purchase as well as seafood, conch fritters and other festival treats.
Relax while strolling through the park or spread your blanket and enjoy the scenery. There will be a classic car and bike cruise-in show, pony rides and other kids’ activities.
Festival admission is $10 per person and children age 11 and under are admitted free with a paying adult.
