The Town of Cutler Bay is hosting its second annual Cutler Bay Hispanic Heritage Celebration on Saturday, Sept. 28, in honor of Hispanic Heritage month. The event will take place at Cutler Ridge Park, 10100 SW 200 St.

National Hispanic Heritage Month, annually celebrated from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15 in the United States, recognizes the contributions and influence of Hispanic Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.

“Join us for an evening of unity and festivities honoring Hispanic traditions,” said Maria Herrera-Mendoza, the town’s Events and Programs manager.

Starting at 4 p.m. the event will feature live salsa music by La Mulata del Sabor, mariachi bands, a live deejay, food trucks with various types of cuisine, activities for children as well as other activities.

Lisett Morales, also known as “La Mulata del Sabor,” is a talented Cuban singer known for her powerful voice and vibrant style. She has gained recognition for her ability to delight audiences with her music and stage presence. La Mulata del Sabor also is a song performed by Morales, which is part of her album of the same name, released in 2012. Some of her other hits include: Ahi Na’ Ma’ Con La Piña Pela, a well-loved song; Somos Latinos, a lively track celebrating Latin culture, and Identidad Sonera, a collaboration with Reinier Bonachea, highlighting her roots.

This special event is sponsored by Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers in Cutler Bay and Into the Blue Roofing.
