The District Stage Company presents “Broadway Songbook” on Friday, Dec. 28, at 8:30 p.m., and Saturday, Dec. 29, at 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., at the South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center (SMDCAC) in Cutler Bay.
Be prepared to be inspired, spending an evening with Miami’s own Broadway stars Andy Señor and Henry Gainza singing songs from their songbooks, sharing stories and anecdotes about their careers in the theater business while fulfilling on their Broadway dreams. Hear the songs that took them from Miami to Broadway in an intimate evening filled with songs from some of the most exciting shows on and off Broadway.

Andy Señor Jr. was born and raised in Miami. As a child, he grew up surrounded by legends of Latin music, raised in a family that worked professionally in the entertainment industry.
He made his professional debut in the Tony Award-winning musical RENT as “Angel,” playing the role on the stages of Broadway, London, Asia, Los Angeles and US National Tours. Some film and television credits include: Dummy, Lola, Ed (NBC) and appearances on Regis and Kelly, The Rosie O’Donnell Show, and as a presenter on the Latin Billboard Music Awards as well as many commercials and music videos.
He studied theater at Florida International University and the Public Theatre Shakespeare LAB where he performed in All’s Well That Ends Well directed by Barry Edelstein at the Public Theatre. He currently is assistant director of the RENT revival Off Broadway and recently re-staged the production in Tokyo, Japan.
Andy currently is the assistant director on FLY, a new musical being developed for Broadway, and is the artistic director of the District Stage Company.
Henry Gainza has been a New York City-based professional actor/singer/songwriter/ director since 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theatre with a minor in Music from the University of Miami. Since moving to the Big Apple, he’s had numerous appearances on stage, television, film and radio, both in the states and abroad.
He has had international acclaim as an actor in Europe with productions of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Grease. Gainza has worked in some of the leading regional theaters across the United States, including Goodspeed Opera House, Arena Stage, and Actors’ Playhouse. His work also has been showcased throughout New York City’s theater community.
Gainza starred Off Broadway in one of the title roles of Pop Star, turned producer Enrique Iglesias’ Off Broadway hit 4 Guys Named Jose and una Mujer named Maria to critical acclaim.
He has been seen on shows such as Saturday Night Live, Throwdown with Bobby Flay, and the Award Winning short Isabella Rico. As a singer, he has had the honor of being on recordings with such industry greats as Ann Hampton Callaway, Rebecca Luker, Janet Dacal, and Linda Eder. He has had the honor of collaborating with industry greats such as Lin-Manuel Miranda, Frank Wildhorn, Maury Yeston, Jo Loesser, Grammy Award-winner Oscar Hernandez and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Nilo Cruz.
Recordings include 4 Guys Named Jose (Cast Recording), DRG’s 25th Anniversary Show Stopping Numbers Compilation, Tears From Heaven (Frank Widlhorn), and Wonderland’s Concept Recording. He is a Carbonell Award nominee, an HOLA Award winner, a member of ASCAP, and a seasoned adjudicator.
For the past two years he’s been the director of entertainment for New York City’s HOLAAwards honoring Latinos in the Arts.
