South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, 10950 SW 211 St. in Cutler Bay, begins the 2017-18 season on Friday, Oct. 14, at 7 p.m., with a free outdoor music concert.

Begin the center’s new season with the return of our popular Backyard Bash on the Concert Lawn. Enjoy live music by Roosevelt Collier’s Phunk Phactory, The Lee Boys, DJ Trooklyn and other artists as well as craft beers and eats. Between music performances explore the center’s many spaces, meet the staff, look through the season schedule, and secure seats for your favorite upcoming shows.
Guest artists include (subject to change): Anthony Cole (Doyle Bramhall ll), Matt Lapham (Shak-Nasti), Alvin Lee (The Leeboys), Chad Watkins, DWayne Bennett, David “Lil Dave” Chiverton, Jason Matthews, Johnny Walker, Tamika J, Sista MaryBeth, Sam Savage, Jean Caze, Sonny East, Roland Simmons and Aaron Lebos.
Beer package available for purchase: $25 beer package (per person) in advance; $30 day of the event. Beer package includes eight 10-ounce beers. Those not purchasing a beer package can still buy individual beer tickets for $4 each. Enjoy craft beer from: Lagunitas, MIA Brewing Company, Wynwood Brewing Company, Biscayne Bay Brewing Company and Concrete Beach (subject to change).
Enjoy tasty bites from Ms. Cheezious, Coldstone, Vibe305, Shotgun Joes and Kona Ice (subject to change).
The event is appropriate for all ages. Food and drinks are available for purchase. Bring lawn chairs and blankets, but no coolers permitted. Space is limited. All patrons entering the theater require a ticket regardless of age. This includes children and infants.
