Beginning in September the Homestead Trolley made significant enhancements including more efficient routes and a new mobile application.
The popular free public transportation, which currently operates two routes expanded to three, providing residents and visitors with an even more convenient and effective means of transportation throughout the city. The new “Homestead Trolley Tracker” mobile application will allow riders to plan their route, locate the trolley, and even be notified of when it is close to a selected stop.
Expanded route options
• Enhanced Downtown Route: Serving the heart of Homestead’s bustling downtown area, this route connects residents and visitors to popular destinations, including shops, restaurants, and cultural attractions such as Losner Park, Homestead Station, and the Cybrarium.
• New Lucy Route: Named after beloved Lucy Street, this route covers the western part of the city, ensuring seamless connectivity for those residing in this area.
• New Campbell Route: The Campbell Route extends to the eastern part of Homestead, offering commuters an efficient way to navigate this vibrant neighborhood.
Homestead Trolley Tracker App
Alongside the route expansion, the “Homestead Trolley Tracker” is now available for download on the App Store and Google Play Store. This user-friendly app empowers riders with the following features:
• Route Planning: Easily plan your trolley journey with real-time route information.
• Trolley Locator: Find the nearest trolley stop and track the location of the trolley in real-time.
• Stop Notifications: Receive alerts when your trolley is approaching your desired stop, ensuring a seamless and stress-free commute.
The City of Homestead is committed to improving transportation options and enhancing the overall quality of life for residents and visitors. These upgrades to the trolley system and the introduction of the Homestead Trolley Tracker app represent significant strides toward achieving these goals.
