Town raises $7,105 at the 10th annual Cutler Bay Open Charity Golf Tournament

The Town of Cutler Bay hosted its 10th annual Cutler Bay Open Charity Golf Tournament on Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Redland Golf and Country Club, once again surpassing expectations and raising a record amount of $7,105 to support the Cutler Bay Community Fund.

The Cutler Bay Open was a huge success this year with more tan 96 participants enjoying a variety of competitions, such as 18 Golf Scramble, Par 3 Poker, Longest Drive, and Closest to the Pin. A 2019 Mercedes-Benz and $5,000 were up for grabs in two hole-in-one competitions. Macita’s in Cutler Bay provided the golfers with breakfast before the shotgun start.

Following the tournament participants took part in a raffle with more than 20 prizes, an award ceremony, and a buffet-style lunch catered by Sandbar Sports Grill in Cutler Bay.

“The Cutler Bay Open continues to get better with every year,” said Councilmember Michael P. Callahan. “It was exciting to see so many families come together and play for charity, including my son Connor. However, the true winner was our Community Fund, as we were able to surpass our record amount for the 10th year.”

To date, the Cutler Bay Community Fund has provided grant funding to five local organizations: Cutler Bay Middle School, Cutler Bay High School, COAST Academy Parent Association, The EDGE Charitable Foundation, and the DEEP Foundation.

The success of the Cutler Bay Open would have not been possible without the town’s dedicated staff and its event sponsors: Envirowaste Services Group Inc., The Corradino Group, Mercedes- Benz of Cutler Bay, VisualScape, Marlin Engineering Inc., Leaderboard Miami, Sunstate Bank, Buffalo Wild Wings, Acosta Tractors Inc., Ygrene, Macita’s Restaurant, South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center, Orange Theory Fitness Cutler Bay, Massage Envy Cutler Bay, TopGolf, Miami Grill in Cutler Bay, and Sandbar Sports Grill.
