The Town of Cutler Bay was recognized by the South Florida Branch of the American Public Works Associations Florida Chapter (SFAPWA) with two awards on June 16.
Town manager Rafael Casals received an award for outstanding “Branch Administrative Support.” The town’s contractor Acosta Tractors Inc. also was recognized as “Contractor of the Year” for the reconstruction/improvements on Caribbean Boulevard from the Canal C-100 Bridge to Coral Sea Road.
This was the second consecutive year the town was recognized by the SFAPWA. The SFAPWA‘s Florida Chapter Awards Program was established to recognize outstanding individuals and groups representing the best achievements in the public works profession throughout the State of Florida. The SFAPWA Florida Chapter “Contractor of the Year” and “Administrative Support” awards are presented to those industry professionals who demonstrate excellence in the field of public works.
Casals, Public Works director Alfredo Quintero, and Sergio Vigoa of Acosta Tractors Inc., were all present during the APWA South Florida Branch Quarterly Luncheon which took place on June 16 in Dania Beach in order to accept their awards.
“I am honored to be nominated by Alfredo Quintero, and humbled to receive such an award for our town,” Casals said. “We continue to strive to deliver the best services for our residents. With partners like Acosta Tractors Inc., we are certainly well on our way to achieving many of our goals.”
