The Town of Cutler Bay, which was incorporated in 2005, will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Saturday, Nov. 8, 4-8 p.m., with a town-wide event to take place at Cutler Ridge Park, 10100 SW 200 St.
“You’re invited to join in the festivities as we commemorate two decades of progress, pride, and community spirit,” said Rod Gibson, the town’s communications manager. “Since its incorporation the Town of Cutler Bay has grown into a thriving, connected community, and we’re marking this major milestone with a full day of fun for all ages.
Included in the day’s activities will be:
● Historical displays celebrating the journey;
● A recognition ceremony honoring key contributors to the town’s success;
● Live music from local bands;
● Food trucks and a curated Taste of Cutler Bay from local restaurants;
● Vendor booths featuring local businesses and artisans, and
● Photo booths, Kids Zone, community raffles and much more.
Past mayors include John Cosgrove, Paul S. Vrooman, Edward P. MacDougal and Peggy Bell.
The town has become well known for its events at Whispering Pines Park, Cutler Ridge Park and Pool, Lakes by the Bay Park and other locations on the Fourth of July, Halloween, Christmas and special occasions.
Mayor Tim Meerbott is looking forward to the celebration.
“This is more than a party – it’s a celebration of how far we’ve come together as a town,” Mayor Meerbott said. “I encourage all our residents to join us in honoring the historic moment when we voted to incorporate and took our future into our own hands. We’ll be recognizing the foundation laid by past councils, who had the vision and dedication to build something lasting.
“Many of the projects we dreamed about in those early days are now becoming a reality, and this celebration is a chance to reflect on those shared achievements, while also looking ahead to the next 20 years of progress and possibility for Cutler Bay,” he added.
More details, including the event schedule and additional locations, will be released in the coming weeks. For updates visit www.cutlerbay-fl.gov and follow the town on social media @TownofCutlerBay.
