The Town of Cutler Bay’s 57th annual Cutler Bay/Whispering Pines 4th of July Celebration and Golf Cart Parade, one of the community’s largest and most engaging annual events, will take place at Whispering Pines Park and the streets surrounding the lake. The event celebrating America’s birthday runs from 9 a.m. to noon.
“Parade lineup begins at 8 a.m., with walkers, bicycles, and golf carts lining up on SW 89th Road. Golf carts and other vehicles and parade floats will line up on SW 190th Street,” said Maria Herrera Mendoza, event coordinator. “The parade participants will circle the lake and return to Whispering Pines Park. The parade begins promptly at 9 a.m.”
Events at the park include the picnic, which begins at 10 a.m. and runs to noon, inflatables for the kids, music, face painting, arts and crafts, snow cones and more. At 10 a.m. the National Anthem will be sung, followed by remarks from members of the Town Council on stage. At 11:15 a.m., weather permitting, there will be a flyover by aircraft of the U.S. Air Force operating out of Homestead Air Reserve Base.
The town also has previously been a co-sponsor of the annual Fourth of July fireworks display and event in Palmetto Bay, but this year the fireworks has been cancelled by the village so Cutler Bay will sponsor other events to be determined.
The event is sponsored by Jaguar Land Rover of South Dade.
Whispering Pines Park is located at 8800 Ridgeland Dr., Cutler Bay, FL 33157.
