Registration for the Town of Cutler Bay’s 2023-24 after school program now is open and interested parents are urged to register soon to secure a spot for their child.
Taking place at Cutler Ridge Park, located at 10100 SW 200 St., the in-person program is open to students entering kindergarten to fifth grade and provides academic assistance, literacy development, social skills training and physical fitness “in an environment where children can safely explore, discover and grow.”
Elizabeth Deveaux, youth program administrator for the town, said she is pleased with the interest in the after school program so far.
“We still have availability for fifth grade students, so this is great,” Deveaux said. “We do crafts; we do STEM activities; we have nutritional information and this year we’re doing computer animation. It’s all taking place here at Cutler Ridge Park.”
Registration fee is $100 per child/$50 per sibling (per school year, nonrefundable). Monthly fee is $50 per child (September 2023 to May 2024). Late pickup fee is $1 per minute after 6:01 p.m.
Program hours
Kindergarten and first grade: Monday-Friday, 2- 6 p.m.
Second through fifth grades:
School days (except Wednesday), 3:10-6 p.m., Wednesday, 2-6 p.m.
The program runs now through June 6, 2024 and follows Miami-Dade County Public Schools’ calendar. It’s closed during winter recess, teacher planning days, and spring break.
