A huge crowd of Cutler Bay residents, chili fans and chefs — both amateur and professional — turned out for the 13th annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Cutler Ridge Park.

The yearly event has long been one of the town’s most popular and well attended activities.

In addition to the chili competition and tasting, the family friendly outdoor party featured live music by hometown band Cutler Stew, 15 food trucks, inflatables, a video game bus, face painters and balloon artists.

The chili, salsa and cornbread entrees were judged by members of the town council and also evaluated by residents attending the event for the separate People’s Choice awards. Winners were awarded trophies and prizes by the town council. The trophies this year looked like small chili pots with painted on flames, mounted on wooden bases.

Second Place: Mindy’s
Third Place: Sunseeker

Salsa:

Sponsors for this year’s event were Cutler Bay Solar Solutions, Miami’s Best Blinds and Dade County Federal Credit Union.
