The USDA Subtropical Horticulture Research Station is pleased to announce it will host the annual Community Day on Saturday, April 9, 2011. Admission is free and the hours are from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Address: 13601 Old Cutler Road, Miami, FL 33158, phone 305-573-7056.
USDA Community Day is postponed.
This event is sponsored by the Miami Council of Garden Clubs’ Presidents (Council) and the Friends of Chapman Field to enlighten our clients, neighbors and partners in the community of the exciting research being accomplished on the station. Thanks to the organization of the Council, there will be spaces where food, horticultural related books, plants and herbs, totes and additional items will be available for purchase from vendors.
Also, for those who are seeking additional knowledge on the current research activities, there will be tours of the laboratories and grounds, where there will be interactive displays/demonstrations in the areas of horticulture, plant genetics, chemistry and entomology.
