The Youth Fair’s popular Tadpole the Clown made his rounds delivering bright smiles and laughter to the pediatric patients and families at Holtz Children’s Hospital and Baptist Children’s Hospital during two separate visits.
His special surprise took place at Holtz Children’s Hospital on Mar. 18 and Baptist Children’s Hospital on Apr. 2, where patients also received a special treat as a part of Tadpole’s visit.
“Reaching out to the Miami-Dade community has always been a huge part of the Youth Fair’s mission and we are always delighted when Tadpole the Clown is able to visit and spend time with children who are not able to visit us,” said Bob Hohenstein, Youth Fair president and CEO. “For many years, Tadpole has done a magnificent job of making each and every youngster, especially those that are ill, feel very special.” Tadpole the Clown is always a crowd favorite and has been a part of the Youth Fair’s strolling entertainment for more than 17 years.
Tadpole the Clown, along with his clown partner, Katie, are professional clowns, magicians and entertainers who engaged in daily adventures while exploring the fairgrounds, saying hello to old friends and making new friends. The clowns use a number of vehicles and props to treat and entertain guests.
He lives in the Peanut Capital of the World, Sylvester, Ga. Tadpole is a Georgia Certified Firefighter and Fire Safety Instructor. He is a graduate and instructor of Clown School on the Road and a graduate of the Georgia Fire Academy Clown School. He has performed all over the U.S. and Canada with audience participation, laughter, and miles and miles of smiles.
