South Miami Lutheran Church, located at 7190 Sunset Drive is kicking off Holy Week with an original dramatic presentation called “THE SHOWDOWN”. This is a thought-provoking play that shows what happens when 3 key figures – Pilate, The Roman Governor, Caiaphas, the high priest and Jesus, the Son of God, confront each other during a week that will change history…
The presentation will take place at 5 pm Sunday, April 13th followed by a pasta dinner at 6:30 pm. The event is free and childcare will be provided by one of the church’s Preschool teachers. There will be a free will offering for dinner to benefit the church’s roof repair fund.
Doing the presentation on April 13th which is Palm Sunday is symbolic since Palm Sunday is the start of Holy Week, cumulating in Easter Sunday. South Miami Lutheran Church which has been serving the community for over 76 years, is always open to trying new things.
Meredith Mills, who is one of the members working on the event stated that “we want all to be welcome in our church and this event brings together many in our community from other churches, as well as some that visit our church for meetings and other events”. It will be a fun evening and guaranteed to get you thinking about Holy Week events.
