City of Doral and MIAMI Realtors unveil new bus shelter at busy stop
Doral’s new bus shelter is another example of how the city is working to promote public transit as an affordable mode of travel that helps alleviate traffic congestion.

The city of Doral is onboard with MIAMI Association of Realtors by inaugurating a new bus shelter June 20, centrally located at NW 107th Avenue and NW 14th Street (in front of BJ’s Restaurant Brewery at Miami International Mall). The stop is one of the busiest bus stops in the community. On hand to celebrate were Doral’s mayor, council, and administrative staff, along with members of the MIAMI Realtors team.

“This new bus shelter is another example of how the city is working to promote public transit as an affordable mode of travel that helps alleviate traffic congestion,” said Mayor Juan Carlos Bermudez. “It also shows our commitment to fiscal responsibility by fortifying partnerships like this one with MIAMI Realtors to execute these types of projects that continue to improve our community’s quality of life.”

With new seating and shade, the hope is the new bus shelter will encourage more Doral residents to take public transportation. The free Doral Trolley and Miami-Dade County public transportation make stops there. The construction of this shelter is part of the Doral Trolley Infrastructure Improvements Project in which the city is constructing eight new shelters.

This is just the first project that has come to fruition as part of the public-private partnership between the City and MIAMI Realtors. In the fall, the new Millennia Atlantic University (MAU) Park will open by the Doral Police Substation along NW 38th Street and 97th Ave. MAU Park will feature a state-of-the art hydration station for patrons and their dogs, which was donated by MIAMI Realtors.
