Divine Savior Academy announced this week that it will break ground for its new high school building on May 18th. A special groundbreaking service will take place at 4pm in the school’s auditorium, followed by an outdoor groundbreaking ceremony and reception with light refreshments. Members of the press, city government, as well as the administration, faculty, and families of DSA have been invited to attend this much-anticipated event.
Divine Savior Academy’s new stand-alone high school building will be located to the north of its current campus on an adjoining 7.75 acres of land. This additional 88,000 square feet of educational space will have 23 classrooms, 4 science labs, tiered lecture rooms, an outdoor classroom, a gymnasium, a weight room, media center, audio visual lab, computer lab, chess room, dance studio, art studio, and music lab. The campus will also include 4 tennis courts, a soccer/football field, more playground area, and over 200 additional parking spaces. The entire PreK3 to 12th grade program will benefit from these additions.
DSA has scheduled the new high school building to open its doors in August 2015, for the 2015-2016 school year. On the heels of so much growth in the Doral community, the academy hopes to serve an additional 400 students with its new high school addition.
“It’s been extremely exciting to watch DSA and the City of Doral grow and expand. We’re thrilled to be a part of this thriving community,” comments Principal Ben Troge.
Divine Savior Academy is the only private Christian school in Doral, Florida. The academy currently has over 550 students enrolled in Pre-K3 through twelfth grade in its Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle and High School programs. The school is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.
“It’s been a very exciting year for DSA. We’re thankful to God, the community of Doral, our DSA families, and the generous outpouring of our donors!” remarks School Superintendent Carlos Leyrer.
