The Divine Savior Academy volleyball team has received a Team Academic Award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) for its work in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.
The award, which was initiated in the 1992-93 academic year, honors collegiate and high school volleyball teams that displayed excellence in the classroom during the school year by maintaining at least a 3.30 cumulative team grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.
Along with the AVCA award, the 2017-2018 DSA volleyball team was recognized by the FHSAA as Academic State Champions.
On the court, Divine Savior Academy recorded a 13-3 record and won their fifth consecutive District Championship. With the core of their team back from last season, this promises to be another exciting year of volleyball for DSA.
The Sharks will be looking to improve on their Regional semifinal finish from a year ago as the team has their sights set on making the Final Four of the State Tournament.
