Because of her consistent straight-forward, no-nonsense leadership on the City of Doral Commission over the past seven years, Ana Maria Rodriguez is the best candidate for the District 105 seat in the State of Florida House of Representatives.
As the first elected Cuban-American woman in the history of the City of Doral, Rodriguez has helped the community in many significant ways. She not only increased sports activities for youth, boosted activities for the community’s elderly, and spearheaded support of myriad cultural events, she has been a dedicated steward of city taxpayer dollars by consistently voting to keep the millage rate low for everyone.
Rodriguez has been a staunch proponent of keeping the community as eco-friendly as possibly by serving as the Council’s liaison on Green Initiatives for the City of Doral, as well as supporting more parks and “green spaces.” Additionally, she voted in support of the “Tails and Trails Park.”
For all this work that she has done for her community, Rodriguez has been honored with numerous accolades, from being named “Humanitarian of the Year” by the March of Dimes to receiving the Hispanic Heritage Leadership Award.
Rodriguez is truly a politician from the people, for the people. She even gained her education from local institutions including St. Theresa Catholic School and the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business at Nova Southeastern University, where she earned a Master of Science in Leadership.
But Rodriguez had already built a storied career prior to getting her Masters. From 2002 to 2004, she represented the Public & Government Relations Firm of Robert M. Levy & Associates as a senior associate; and in 2005 went on to become director of Government & Community Relations for Baptist Health South.
Since 2010, Rodriguez has served the community of Doral on the City Council and was re-elected in 2014, now serving as vice mayor.
With a solid backbone of public service, she has now decided to run for Florida’s 105th House District in hopes of better serving the community that has supported her throughout her whole life.
A proud mother of four with a successful career, Rodriguez is candid in her demeanor and steadfast in her fight to improve quality of life. She is committed to serving others with unwavering transparency and ethics.
Based on her impressive track record, the Doral Tribune endorses Rodriguez in her bid in the upcoming Florida State House election for District 105.
