On Thursday, October 12, 2023, School Board Member Monica Colucci joined Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez at Royal Palm Elementary School to recognize former student, Catherine Dajui, a finalist of the 2023 Florida Space Art Contest.
Catherine’s exceptional artistic talent earned her a spot among 12 finalists in the Second Annual Lieutenant Governor Space Art Contest with a painting that captured the future of Florida in space 100 years from now. In the last two years, the Art Contest has received over 4,000 entries from talented young artists and visionaries in the State of Florida, with Catherine among them.
As a finalist in the Space Art Contest, Catherine won tickets to visit the Kennedy Space Center and an opportunity to work on a future art project with renowned artist Romero Britto. This recognition is a testament to Catherine’s talent in the arts and passion for space exploration and discovery!
“We were honored to have had Lieutenant Governor Jeanette Nuñez visit our school and recognize the talent of our students,” said Board Member Colucci. “I want our young artist Catherine to know that we are all very proud of her and her remarkable achievement.
