Mercantil Commercebank as sponsoring partner joined Futbox Futsal Center and Liv2Nite.com, raising $13,000 to benefit the Voices for Children program at the third annual “Be A Voice” Soccer Cup at Futbox Futsal Center, 3508 NW 114th Ave., June 7.
Soccer fever was in full swing at the competition won by The Accounting- Live.com team with Miami-Dade Police Department’s team taking second place. Prizes included a Soccer Cup trophy, minisoccer balls and gift cards, as well as Mercantil Commercebank gift bags and water bottles. Other participating teams included representatives from Mercantil Commercebank, Alf’s Collection, EFG Capital, the Guardian ad Litem Program, Univision, and Voices For Children.
Media personalities joining the fun included Daniel Morcate, Jorge Hernandez, Jose Luis Napoles and Mario Andres Moreno from Univision 23. Food was provided and sponsored by Sandwich Qbano and music by DJ Fantasma Miami.
Existing for almost 30 years, Voices For Children Foundation raises and provides funds to support the Guardian ad Litem Program, which trains and supervises court-appointed adults to represent the best interests of Miami-Dade’s abused, abandoned and neglected children in dependency court proceedings.
Through community volunteers, black-tie affairs and sport events, Voices For Children works to secure additional funding to help close the gap of representation for these vulnerable children
